This means that USPS does not supply free tape, and it is your responsibility to make sure your package is securely taped closed with an approved tape.
Instead, USPS does have its own tape that is available for purchase if you want to be extra sure that it is the correct tape. Additionally, you can also purchase approved shipping tape directly from the USPS website.
What Kind Of Tape Does USPS Accept?
USPS recommends that you use a standard, clear packing tape to secure your cardboard package.
Additionally, most standard packing tapes will be accepted, and it is up to you which one fits your needs and budget. One thing to note, however, is that paper tape is not on their approved list.
