Target, one of America’s largest retail chains, has an extensive returns policy to facilitate its customers, allowing the return of most products for a full refund within 90 days of purchase.

Target Return Policy After 90 Days
Target does not return items after 90 days. However, if the product is a Target privately labeled product, then customers can return the item within 1 year of purchase. Target Red Card holders can also receive an additional 30 days to return products on top of the 90 days return window.

How Can I Return A Product To Target After 90 Days?
Target RedCard credit or debit holders are entitled to a range of exclusive benefits including the RedCard Extended Returns program.
When you purchase products with the Target Debit, Credit, or MasterCard RedCard, you will receive an additional 30 days beyond the standard return policy.
Therefore, regular items are returnable for 120 days, electronics (excluding Apple products) returnable for 60 days, Apple products within 45 days, and mobile phones without a contract in 44 days.
However, customers should note exemptions to the program. The extended period does not include the return of:
- Target optical products
- Non-returnable items (i.e., opened movies, video games, software, collectibles, hazardous items)
- Contract mobile phones
Head over to the customer service desk in-store with your unopened product, original receipt, and original payment method used at purchase for a refund or exchange.
Note that Target reserves the right to deny any returns after the cut-off period.
Which Products Cannot Be Returned After 90 Days At Target?
Customers can return unsatisfactory Target-owned branded items, including A New Day apparel, Market Pantry, All In Motion, Opalhouse, Bullseye’s Playground, Room Essentials, and more!
Whether the product is opened, faulty, or used, you’ll have one year to request an exchange or refund with the receipt.
Most general merchandise (such as apparel, home decor, standard cleaning equipment, etc.) is unopened or in new condition within 90 days for a refund or exchange.
However, specific product categories are returnable for a shorter period and are less likely to be accepted after 90 days.
According to Target’s return policy, all electronics and entertainment items must be returned within 30 days, while Apple products are returnable for 15 days.
Meanwhile, mobile phones and drones must be brought back within 14 days.
Furthermore, third-party Target Plus Partners may enforce independent return policies meaning, timeframes may vary between sellers.
Can I Return An Item To Target After 90 Days Without A Receipt?
You cannot return an item to Target after 90 days without a receipt.
However, you may receive store credit or an exchange if you can present an alternative proof of purchase such as digital barcodes or packing slips.
The exchange value will match the product’s current in-store sale price.
Target allows $150 worth of returns without a receipt per customer, so you’ll need to bring a government-issued photo ID to track your returns.
Note that all decisions for accepting returns ultimately lie with the Target store manager, so you can speak to the manager if you have a valid reason for returning a product after 90 days without a receipt.
Can I Get A Refund After 90 Days At Target?
Unfortunately, you cannot get a refund after 90 days at Target.
However, if the item is unopened and in its original condition, you may receive an exchange at the product’s current price.
