If you pay for products covered under Costco’s standard warranty policy with your Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi, you automatically get an additional two years of warranty coverage. Your coverage will begin when the original manufacturer’s or extended warranty runs out, although terms and conditions state that certain products will not be covered.

What Is Covered By Costco’s Visa Extended Warranty?
Any product that is included in Costco’s standard warranty policy will be covered by Costco’s Visa extended warranty, as long as the item is paid for using a Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi.
This includes electrical goods such as televisions, projectors, and all computers and laptops, with the exception of touchscreen tablets. It also includes a wide range of white goods, for example:
- Large refrigerators and freezers
- Range cookers
- Cooktops
- Some microwaves
- Dishwashers
- Water heaters
- Washers and dryers
Any of these products purchased either in-store or online at Costco.com will come with standard warranty cover, plus two additional years of coverage when paid for with a Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi.
What Is Not Covered By Costco’s Visa Extended Warranty?
There are a number of products that come with a manufacturer’s warranty that will not be covered by Costco’s Visa extended warranty.
These include all land, air, and water vehicles such as cars, boats, and aircraft. Any original equipment included with these vehicles, including tires, will not be covered either.
It is also important to note that you are only covered for up to $10,000 per item included in Costco’s Visa extended warranty. Any repair costs that exceed that will have to be paid for by you.
How Does Costco’s Standard Warranty Policy Work?
In addition to the two-year warranty that covers select Costco products that have been paid for with a Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi, there is also a standard warranty service.
Any product that is also covered by Costco’s Visa extended warranty is eligible for it.
With this standard warranty policy, most electrical goods sold in Costco stores or online at Costco.com get two years of warranty cover from the date of purchase. This means that if the product malfunctions, you can get it repaired free of charge.
If you have Costco’s Visa extended warranty, too, this additional coverage will start when the original warranty expires.
How Else Can I Get Extended Warranty Cover Through Costco?
Extended warranty cover comes as standard with applicable items purchased from Costco.
However, for additional coverage, you can use your Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi, which will automatically add two extra years onto your policy.
You can also get extended warranty coverage through Allstate, by paying for one of their Protection Plans. These will give you up to five years of additional protection, depending on the product.
If you use all three methods of extending your warranty, you can get a maximum of seven years of warranty coverage.
