Does Aldi Sell Stamps? (All You Need To Know)

A lot of the things we used to mail via the US Postal Service are now digitized, but there are still those occasional times when we have to get out a real envelope, seal it and affix a stamp.

Aldi is a one-stop-shop for pantry staples, fresh produce, and even gifts and home goods, but like other grocery chains, does Aldi sell stamps? I did some research and have answers!

Does Aldi Sell Stamps?

Unfortunately, Aldi does not sell stamps. If you want to pick up a single stamp or entire book, you will have to make a separate trip to another store such as Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Staples, or the post office. You can also purchase stamps and postage online.

To learn more about why Aldi doesn’t sell stamps, alternative locations, and more, keep on reading!

Why Doesn’t Aldi Sell Stamps?

While I couldn’t find a definitive reason why Aldi does not sell stamps, an educated guess would involve the stores’ emphasis on cost-cutting practices all-around so that they can pass the savings onto the consumer.

Aldi cashiers are known for their speedy check-outs; after all, the check-out process doesn’t even involve register bagging, let alone couponing or anything of that nature.

Selling stamps would slow down the check-out process considerably, as cashiers would have to stop and count them out individually and have a separate, secure place to keep them.

Ultimately, it makes sense that Aldi does not sell stamps, though it would certainly be more convenient if they did.

What Other Stores Do Sell Stamps?

While Aldi does not sell stamps, you are in luck — lots of other supermarkets, convenience stores, retail stores, and drugstores do sell stamps.

National chains that do sell stamps include:

This list is by no means definitive, but gives you a good idea of a store in your area that sells stamps. Many regional supermarkets and retail stores sell stamps, too; check their websites or give them a call to find out.

Some gas station convenience stores also sell stamps. This is very individualized, as many gas stations are local or regional, so again, you will have to do your research or ask.

Where Else Can You Buy Stamps At?

There are a few other places where you can obtain stamps.

First, and perhaps most obviously, is the post office. This usually isn’t the most convenient option, but they always have stamps.

Second, you can buy stamps at some banks. Major banks Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Key Bank sell stamps at some of their branch locations.

Conclusion

While Aldi will save you a few bucks on groceries, it will not save you a trip to another store if you need stamps. Aldi does not sell stamps, but many other similar supermarkets, as well as retail shops, banks, post offices and even the Internet do.

It’s ironic that the shortest article in this batch took the longest time to finish! I could not find any definitive answer anywhere for WHY Aldi doesn’t sell stamps, so I went ahead and make an educated conjecture. I hope that’s all right.
