Amazon offers a number of payment methods on its website and mobile app. Customers can use credit and debit cards, Amazon gift cards, and, most recently, “buy now, pay later” apps.
However, customers who use Klarna may wonder if Amazon has included this app in their “buy now, pay later” partnerships. If you’d like to find out, keep reading this article to see what I learned!
Does Amazon Accept Klarna?
Amazon recently integrated Klarna into their payment options for Amazon.com. Customers can pay with Klarna by downloading the Klarna app, creating an account, and locating Amazon in the search bar. Customers can then add Amazon items to their cart and checkout, allowing them to pay for purchases using a 4-installment payment plan.
If you’d like to learn more about how Klarna works, if you can use Klarna for Amazon payment plans, how to get a refund from Amazon through Klarna, and more, keep reading for more facts and tips!
How Does Klarna Work With Amazon?
Klarna is a “buy now pay later” app that allows Amazon customers to make purchases on Amazon using a 4-installment payment plan.
Customers can either download the Klarna app for shopping on their mobile device or they can download the browser extension to apply their Klarna Card to Amazon.com.
When shopping on Amazon, customers can add any item to their cart and pay for it in installments instead of one lump sum.
Customers can choose between a 4-installment plan paid out every two weeks or a 30-day payment plan free of interest or additional fees.
Using Klarna on Amazon allows customers to make smaller payments on items they would normally have to pay full price upfront for, in addition to the items on Amazon that already qualify for a payment plan.
Can I Use Klarna for an Amazon Payment Plan?
Amazon has made select items in their catalog available for payment plans, such as furniture and certain electronics, which are paid out in 5 installments over 120 days.
However, customers can also choose to use Klarna, which offers a payment plan in a shorter amount of time than Amazon’s regular payment plan.
Customers should note that Klarna is a “buy now, pay later” application and not a substitute for a credit card.
Therefore, customers cannot select Klarna and the Amazon payment plan for the same order.
Can I Use Klarna on Amazon Without the Klarna App?
If customers prefer to conduct their online shopping from a desktop or laptop computer, they can still use Klarna by downloading the Klarna browser extension.
Once customers have downloaded the browser extension, they can add items from Amazon to their cart.
Once they’re ready to pay, the “Pay With K” option will pop up on their screen, which customers can select and process their payment with.
Customers should note, however, that the Klarna browser extension is only available for the Google Chrome browser at this time.
How Do I Get an Amazon Refund Using Klarna?
When customers make a purchase on Amazon through Klarna and wish to return it, Klarna will automatically be notified and proceed to process a refund.
Klarna will process a refund within 14 days after the request has been approved by Amazon, though it generally takes 3-5 business days for a refund to be processed and added to an account, depending on the payment method used.
Klarna allows customers to use invoices, and direct and partial payments, which are all processed at slightly different times.
Therefore, customers may receive a refund in their Klarna account at a different time than a regular Amazon refund.
How Can I Use My One-Time Klarna Card on Amazon?
If Amazon customers are using a One-Time Klarna card, they can use it on Amazon by going into the Klarna app, selecting the Home tab, and searching for Amazon in the search bar.
Customers will then be given the option to create the One-Time card and, after doing so, can apply it to their purchase at the checkout, and their debit/ credit card will automatically be linked to the One-Time Klarna card.
Can I Use Klarna for Amazon Prime?
The Klarna app is set up to approve payment installments for any website that has e-commerce features. Therefore, Klarna customers can use the app to separate their Amazon Prime yearly payment!
Customers can choose to separate their Amazon Prime membership payment into 30 days or a four-installment plan paid out every two weeks.
In order to pay for their Prime membership with Klarna, customers can either use the Klarna app or download the browser extension to manage their membership from their computer.
