Therefore, if you are transferring money through your bank account on a weekend, or holiday, you may have to wait an extra day or two for your funds to process.

Does PayPal Process Transactions Over the Weekend?
Fortunately, PayPal’s functions work 24/7/365 days a year, unless the platform has an issue that shuts it down.
However, when using PayPal to transfer funds to and from your bank account, PayPal has to operate during the bank’s business days and hours.
Moreover, this means if your bank is open Monday-Friday 9 AM to 5 PM, except on holidays, PayPal can transfer money to your bank during this time.
Additionally, on the weekends or holidays, when the bank is closed the transfers will not process and you will have to wait an extra day or two before receiving your money.
Furthermore, if you submit a transfer through PayPal to or from your bank account after your bank’s business hours, your transfer will be processed the next business day.
Additionally, if your bank is open on Saturdays for a couple of hours, your transfers can be processed during that time because the bank is open.
If you transfer money directly from your PayPal balance to another PayPal balance, with no bank accounts involved, the money will transfer instantly, even on the weekends or holidays.
However, if the money was paid for goods or a service, PayPal may need to make sure the item or service has been received properly before allowing the recipient to claim the funds.
Therefore, the funds will be in the recipient’s account where they can see the money, but the money will be on “hold” or “pending” until the buyer has confirmed the order.
How Long does it take for a PayPal Transaction to go Through?
When purchasing an item or service or sending a personal payment through PayPal using your debit or credit card, the funds are requested and transferred immediately.
Moreover, when using your PayPal account that uses your bank account as the payment method, the funds will take 3 to 5 days to fully process if using a standard transfer.
Additionally, if using PayPal instant transfer, it will process in no more than 30 minutes, unless on a weekend or after your bank’s business hours.
However, if you use PayPal instant transfer on a weekend or after your bank’s business hours, the money will transfer on the next business day.
Moreover, bank transfers and payments through your bank account take 3 to 5 days to process through PayPal because PayPal uses the ACH system.
Furthermore, the ACH, Automated Clearing House, is the most used system by agencies for “electronic funds transfer”.
Additionally, the reason why the ACH system takes so long is that, firstly, several parties take place in the transfer.

Does PayPal 72-Hour Period Include Weekends?
Unfortunately, the 72-hour period for transactions does not include weekends. Moreover, 72-hours is exactly 3 days.
Therefore, the “72-hours” refers to the 3-5 days it takes to transfer money between your PayPal account and your bank account, not including weekends or holidays.

Fortunately, PayPal’s services do work on the weekends. Unfortunately, because PayPal uses the ACH system, if you transfer money to or from your bank account using PayPal you have to wait for 3 to 5 days for the transfer to process, and an extra day or two when on the weekends.
Fortunately, for services not including your bank account, such as payments with your credit or debit card, you do not have to wait and it will process on the weekends, just like in-store payments with your card.
