Walgreens is one of America’s largest drugstore chains, with over 8000+ chains nationwide that sell a wide range of everyday essentials.
Since Walgreens is such a popular store, you might be wondering if Walgreens sell cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, vapes, rolling tobacco, rolling papers, and Juul. Here is what I found.
Does Walgreens Sell Cigarettes, Cigars, & E-cigarettes?
Walgreens stores are slowly phasing out tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, vapes, rolling tobacco, rolling papers, and Juuls. This was due to a ban imposed on pharmacies selling tobacco products. Currently, only a select amount of Walgreens in particular states sell tobacco products.

Does Walgreens Sell Non-Tobacco E-cigarette Products Such As Vapes and Juuls?
Before 2019, Walgreens sold e-cigarette brands like Blu and FIN (that do not contain tobacco) at its physical stores.
However, Walgreens published a news release in October 2019 announcing its decision to stop selling all kinds of e-cigarette products at all of its stores across the country.
This was based on the CDC and FDA investigations that revealed the harmful effects of e-cigarette products on the youth.
What Other Nicotine Products Does Walgreens Sell?
The only nicotine products Walgreens currently sells are those used to help people quit smoking. These include nicotine patches, gums, and lozenges.
You do not need a prescription to buy these nicotine products, but you will still have to show that you are above the legal age and provide a photo ID for verification.
Does Walgreens Sell Any Smoking Accessories?
Walgreens still sells a wide range of lighters since these are used for a lot more than just lighting cigarettes, cigars, and rolling papers.
Other than that, it sells disposable water-filtered cigarette holders that are only available for home delivery, i.e., cannot be bought in stores physically.
What Is The Legal Age For Buying Cigarettes And Tobacco Products?
Before 2019, Walgreens sold all kinds of cigarettes and tobacco products to people above the legal age of 18 in its physical stores.
However, it implemented the new Tobacco 21 policy in April 2019 following state regulations that raised the legal age to buy tobacco products to 21.
Eventually, this was instituted on a federal level. You need to be above 21 years of age to buy tobacco products such as cigarettes from any store (of any company) in the country that sells these.
However, note that Walgreens has now ceased to sell all forms of tobacco products to anyone despite raising the age limit.
You will no longer find the section in Walgreens that contains cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and other tobacco products.

Conclusion
Since May 2019, Walgreens is phasing out tobacco products such as cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars, vapes, rolling tobacco, rolling papers, and Juul.
This was due to federal and state-level legislation banning pharmacies from selling tobacco products.
The only smoking-related products you will find at Walgreens now include lighters, cigarette holders, and products (such as nicotine patches) that help people stop smoking.
