IKEA offers many different appliances and products in their stores, and if you’ve been shopping around for a new appliance recently, it’s quite likely you’ve been eyeing the ones in IKEA’s stock.

IKEA Appliance Warranty
The IKEA appliance warranty includes a 5-year limited cover on any defects or functions. Appliances covered in the IKEA warranty include ovens, cooktops, hoods, microwave ovens, dishwashers, refrigerators, and freezers. The free warranty enables customers to replace or repair defective appliances.

What Appliances Are Covered In IKEA’s Warranty?
IKEA includes a number of appliances under their warranty, including;
- Microwave Ovens
This warranty covers any defects found in the material or workmanship of the product and will not cover any incidental damage caused by the customer from usage.
This warranty is provided by Whirlpool Corporation, and any parts or services required will be supplied by them.
What Are The Time Frames In IKEA’s Appliance Warranty?
When purchasing your appliance at IKEA, your appliance’s 5 year limited warranty will automatically begin at the time of purchase
However, if your appliances are not properly installed, you can be at risk of voiding your warranty.
This 5-year warranty is only valid within the United States, and if taken outside the US, the warranty will be voided.
In addition, this warranty is not transferable between owners.
What Is Not Covered In The IKEA Appliance Warranty?
IKEA’s 5-year limited warranty does have its limits.
Under this warranty, you cannot claim any service calls to correct the installation of your major appliance or instruct you on how to use it.
You will also not receive any repairs or replacement house fuses and no calls to correct house wiring or plumbing.
In addition, you will also not be able to claim any service calls to repair or replace appliance light bulbs, water filters, or air filters.
Parts that are deemed consumables for appliances will also be excluded from this warranty.
How Do You Make A Claim Under IKEA’s Appliance Warranty?
If you have found a fault in your major appliance from IKEA within 5 years of purchase, you can claim it easily by either heading to your local IKEA store with the original receipt to discuss your claim.
Alternatively, you can call IKEA customer services on 1-888-888-4532 for assistance.
Their call hours of operation are Sunday to Saturday, 9 am till 10 pm (Eastern Time).
How Is The Claim Resolved Under IKEA’s Appliance Warranty?
When you make a claim under IKEA’s appliance warranty, IKEA will send a team to inspect your major appliance (unless it is transportable and you’ve brought it along).
IKEA will be inspecting your appliance to see if the fault is because of a defect in the material or workmanship, as opposed to natural wear and tear or any personal damage.
If the appliance is deemed to have a defect, then it will be repaired or replaced.
IKEA will contact Whirlpool Corporation for the specific parts for the repair work and begin working as soon as possible on your issue.
In addition, IKEA will cover the costs of materials, labor, and time for your convenience.
How Can I Care For My Appliances Under IKEA’s Warranty?
IKEA offers a free guide with all of their appliances with instructions on how to clean your appliances appropriately, in line with the 5-year warranty.
There are some specific instructions for appliances, such as for glass-ceramic cooktops, but for the majority of appliances these are the common instructions:
- Have your major appliance (An oven for example) installed by a professional
- Use in the home only
- Use socket outlets for appliances and never extension cords
- Use all appliances for their appropriate use.
