How Much Time Do Verizon Employees Get for Vacation?

For example, new hires and employees that have been with Verizon for less than three years will have three weeks of vacation, and also includes the following based on time with the company:
- Employees with 3 to 7 years of employment with Verizon receive four weeks of vacation
- Employees with 8 to 24 years of employment receive five weeks of vacation
- Employees with over 25 years of employment receive six weeks of vacation
Additionally, any Verizon Media employees that were hired before 2020 are eligible to receive five weeks of vacation once they’ve been with Verizon for six years.
When Does Verizon Vacation Time Accrue?
The Verizon vacation time will accrue as it normally has and is not changing, which means it runs from January 16 through October 16 at a rate of 10% per month.
Furthermore, you can still only accrue 150% as your maximum vacation time at any given point. This means if you have 6 weeks of vacation, you cannot exceed 8 weeks at any time.
If you exceed the threshold, you’ll be asked to take some vacation time to get your amount back underneath the 150% mark.
Does Verizon Require Vacation Time to Be Approved?
You’ll still need to get your vacation time approved, which should be approved by your supervisor at the Verizon location where you’re working.
