Krazy Coupon Lady estimates that they occur about once a month, but I would venture that they happen more often than that.
Just look at the month of July – there was the July 4th sale, of course, but as soon as that was over, it was followed up by a Warehouse Cleanout sale.
KCL lists the most common sales, in order of how good the deals are, as:
- Way Day, with deals up to 80 percent off
- Black Friday, with deals up to 80 percent off
- Long Weekend Holidays (Labor Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July), with deals up to 75 percent off
- Clearance events, with deals up to 60 percent off
- Daily Deals, up to 50 percent off
Long Weekend Holiday deals generally last a week: the week leading up to the Big Day, and sometimes a “special extension.”
Way Day is a two-day event that began in 2018 and has been going strong ever since.
It is held in late April and “almost everything on the site” is on sale, up to 80 percent off; oh, and shipping for all Way Day orders is free, with no $35 minimum required.
Way Day is Wayfair’s answer to Amazon Prime Days, and like Prime Days, Wayfair runs flash deals throughout each day.
One way to get a deal during Way Day is to pick out what you want to buy, well in advance, and leave it in your cart.
Then, when Way Day occurs, the price will automatically fall if it’s on the list of deals; and it almost assuredly will be.
(And in fact, if you want a deal any time of the year, this is a great way to go about it. Put an item in your cart and forget about it.
Within a few days, you will most likely receive an email from Wayfair reminding you about your cart and, if you’re lucky, including a promo code to incentivize your purchase.)
If you happen to shop Wayfair when no sales are going on, don’t fret.
If you have a little leeway with your purchase, just wait it out. Another holiday will pop up, or a daily deal with occur. Wayfair is a site that thrives on its sales.
How Long Does The Wayfair Sale Last?
Wayfair sales last anywhere from a few days to an entire week.
The Way Day sale used to be one day, but has since moved to two days. It is generally held in late April.
Long Weekend Holiday sales, however, can start up to a week in advance of the actual day and may have a special “extension” day.
Now, Black Fridays have become so much more than just the day after Thanksgiving.
According to The Spruce, in 2021 Black Friday deals started November 1.
From November 1 to November 5 and then from November 9 to the 11th, customers could save up to 50 percent off.
Then, from November 11 to November 24, customers could save up to 80 percent off.
Those prices continued through Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but also featured free shipping, no minimum.
Subsequent Black Fridays will likely follow the same pattern, starting at the beginning of November and running through Cyber Monday.
Do You Get A Discount On Your First Wayfair Purchase?
Wayfair may send you a coupon code for 10 or 15 percent off your first purchase, but you have to sign up for their marketing emails.
The Krazy Coupon Lady admonishes customers to be aware, because the coupon codes are often very time sensitive and may expire before you know it.
There is also the Wayfair credit card promo. If you sign up for the Wayfair credit card you can get $40 off your first qualifying order of $250.
I actually had the credit card for a while, and I liked it – the five percent in rewards back was really nice when I was furnishing a new home.
The rewards back also add up pretty quickly, despite Wayfair’s lower prices.
Finally, if you enroll in Wayfair Professional, you get 10 percent off your first order.
Wayfair Professional is a free, members-based program that opens up further discounts and merchandise not available to the regular shopper.

How Do You Enter A Promo Code On Wayfair?
Entering a promo code on Wayfair is super simple.
Simply go to your shopping cart and look to the right of the screen.
Underneath where it says Proceed to Checkout, in smaller text it reads “Add Gift Card/Promo Code.”
Press on that, and a text bubble pops up that allows you to enter your promo code. Hit “Apply” and you’re good to go!
Does Wayfair Do Price Matching?
Wayfair does not participate in price matching, as per their website.
However, DoNotPay.com clarifies that this is for their competitors and that they do price match among their affiliated brands, like Birch Lane and All Modern.
