Do Walgreens Have Bathrooms? [Locations, Can Anyone Use, Cleanliness + More]

Walgreens has over 8000+ drugstores spread all over the country. So when you’re out and feel the need to visit the bathroom, you may be hard-pressed to find one in public.

Since Walgreens stores are everywhere, you may be wondering: does Walgreens have bathrooms? Here is what I’ve found!

Do Walgreens Have Bathrooms?

Most of the 8,000+ Walgreens stores have a public bathroom that can be used by anyone. In some Walgreens, the restroom is kept locked, so you may have to ask an employee for a key. Additionally, the new Walgreens policy permits people to use bathrooms based on their gender identity.

If you want to know more about the cleanliness of these bathrooms, Walgreens’ policies regarding the use of bathrooms by different genders, and much more, keep on reading!

Where Can You Find Bathrooms Inside A Walgreens Store?

Bathrooms are not difficult to find once you’re inside the store. Just look for the ‘restrooms’ sign overhead (typically located at the back corner of the store), and you will easily locate the bathrooms.

If you’re not in the mood to search, just ask the nearest Walgreens employee about it, and you will get the directions you need.

Can The Public Use The Bathrooms At Walgreens?

Anyone can use the public bathrooms at any of the 8000+ Walgreens stores spread all over the country.

Some stores do not allow the general public access to their bathrooms, but Walgreens is not one of them.

Additionally, you are allowed to use their bathrooms but are also expected to be courteous and ensure you do not leave them dirty and unkempt.

How Clean Are The Bathrooms At Walgreens?

Walgreens makes sure to regularly clean and maintain its public washrooms so that visitors do not have to go through unpleasant experiences.

However, if you visit the public bathroom at Walgreens and find it to be dirty, you can highlight this to the employees and ask them to have it cleaned.

Will You Be Allowed To Use The Preferred Bathroom For Your Gender Identity?

Since 2018, Walgreens has instituted a policy across all its stores that allow people to use bathrooms based on their gender identity and prohibits any kind of discrimination.

This policy was adopted after a woman was unjustly discriminated against and barred from using the women’s washroom because she was considered to be dressed ‘like a man.’

Conclusion: Do Walgreens Have Bathrooms?

All 8000+ Walgreens stores do indeed have public bathrooms that can be accessed by anyone. These are kept locked in some stores, so you may have to ask an employee who will then unlock them for you.

The bathrooms are maintained and cleaned regularly. Since 2018, Walgreens has established a policy that allows people to use any bathroom based on their gender identity.
