Does Amazon Music Have Ads? (Why Are There Ads + Can You Remove Them)

Amazon Music is the e-commerce retailer’s music and podcast streaming service that contains millions of songs from top artists for customers to listen to.

If you’re considering subscribing to Amazon Music, you may want to know if it has any ads and whether you can remove them. I’ve researched this, and here is what I’ve found out!

Does Amazon Music Have Ads?

The free version of the Amazon Music plan does play ads in between music and podcasts, much like Spotify. However, no ads will be played for Amazon Music Prime, Unlimited, and HD subscriptions. To remove ads from a free Amazon Music membership, customers must upgrade to Amazon Prime or sign in to their Prime account.

If you want to know more about why there are ads on Amazon Music, whether there will be ads if you are a Prime member, and much more, keep reading!

Why Are There Ads On Amazon Music?

Amazon Music has ads to support the free streaming platform financially, so if you want to listen to thousands of stations and songs for free, Amazon will ask you to listen to a few ads.

Amazon can maintain a free subscription model by running ads between songs and podcasts.

However, upgrading to Amazon Music Prime, Unlimited, or HD is also possible if you don’t want to listen to ads anymore.

Amazon uses ad time to promote other products and services from the retailer. You may also hear ads encouraging listeners to sign up for a paid subscription to get rid of ads.

Can You Remove Ads From Amazon Music?

The only way to remove ads from the free version of Amazon Music is to upgrade to a paid subscription.

To do this, navigate to “Manage Your Content and Devices” within your Amazon account, select your device, and click to remove special offers.

After that, a pop-up window will give you the price to upgrade your Amazon Music membership and remove ads.

Note that it’s easy to see your current Amazon Music settings within your account, and you can sign up for a free trial of Amazon Music Unlimited.

Also, many Amazon Prime members who primarily shop online don’t realize that they also get ad-free music streaming as part of their subscription.

If you are thinking about Amazon Prime for shopping, delivery, and digital content, the ad-free listening music streaming experience may help you decide if you want to sign up or not.

Are There Ads On Amazon Music Prime?

Are There Ads On Amazon Music Prime

Amazon Music Prime allows you to listen to two million songs without ads and offers unlimited plays on thousands of playlists with personalized streaming stations.

Although you are limited to streaming on one device, Amazon Music Prime is automatically included in your Prime membership, so it’s definitely something you should take advantage of.

The Unlimited or HD versions are ideal for music listeners who want to take their streaming to the next level with no ads and more access.

Why Are There No Ads On Amazon Music Unlimited Or HD?

Listeners pay a monthly subscription fee for Amazon Music Unlimited or HD, and that cost supports Amazon’s ad-free streaming service.

There are additional benefits to Unlimited or HD subscriptions, so if you upgrade from Amazon Music Prime that’s included in a Prime membership, you are paying for more ad-free features.

With Amazon Music Unlimited, you can access 75 million songs across thousands of playlists and personalized stations.

Additionally, you can listen on one device at a time with the individual plan, or up to six devices with the family plan. Other features include the ability to play music offline.

Note that the highest level of streaming service is Amazon Music HD, which is like Unlimited but with all the music in high definition.

As part of this subscription, millions of songs come in ultra-high definition, and there’s also a growing catalog of 3D songs on Amazon Echo Studio.

Since there are no ads on any of the paid Amazon Music memberships, deciding which one to subscribe to comes down to the musical selection and devices.

Conclusion

When you sign up for Amazon Music, you have four options: Amazon Music Free, Prime, Unlimited, or HD. The free version has ads and can only be streamed on one device at a time.

If you prefer an ad-free listening experience, then Amazon Music Prime, Unlimited, or HD allow you to skip the ads.

If you have a Prime membership, you can access ad-free music easily, otherwise, you may want to sign up for an HD or Unlimited monthly subscription.

  1. I feel it’s completely wrong that I have to listen to ads while listening to a playlist of music I PURCHASED. The whole reason I bought the songs was for a playlist for when I’m trying to fall asleep. Suddenly, this week, I have ads interspersed in music I supposedly own!
