Located in Southeast Asia, Vietnam is known for its chaotic cities, delicious food, breathtaking landscapes, and friendly people. If you’ve been lucky enough and have made local friends, you might find yourself wanting to send them something now and then.

But does USPS deliver letters and packages to Vietnam? I’ve been curious about the same thing and decided to research the matter. That said, here’s everything I discovered!

Does USPS Ship To Vietnam In 2024?

USPS provides shipping services to Vietnam as of 2024. Global Express Guaranteed and Priority Mail Express International are the fastest (most expensive) options, with delivery taking one to five business days. Prices start at $68.90 for Priority Mail Express International and $101.00 for Global Express Guaranteed. If you’d like to learn more about the different shipping options to Vietnam, then this is the article you need to read!

Which Shipping Options Does USPS Offer For Vietnam?

When shipping internationally with USPS, you have four choices:

  • Global Express Guaranteed
  • Priority Mail Express International
  • Priority Mail International
  • First-Class Package International Service

Let’s take a closer look at the features of each service.

Global Express Guaranteed (GXG)

Global Express Guaranteed is the fastest international shipping service USPS offers, delivering in one to three business days.

Further, this service comes with date-certain delivery and a money-back guarantee if your package takes more than three days to arrive.

Also, Global Express packages come with tracking and up to $100 of insurance. As a bonus, you’ll receive a free GXG shipping kit complete with envelopes, labels, and stickers.

Priority Mail Express International (PMEI)

Priority Mail Express International is another express shipping option if you’ve got something that needs to get to its destination quickly.

With that, this service promises delivery in three to five business days.

On top of that, USPS offers a money-back delivery guarantee to some international countries, but Vietnam isn’t one of them.

In other words, you won’t get a refund from USPS if your package takes longer than five days to arrive.

While there’s no money-back guarantee, USPS offers tracking, which allows you to monitor your package and notify the recipient of any delays.

Additionally, packages headed to Vietnam benefit from USPS insurance coverage.

So, this insurance includes up to $100 for non-negotiable document reconstruction and up to $200 for merchandise loss, damage, or missing contents.

Priority Mail International (PMI)

Priority Mail International is USPS’ economy shipping option, including tracking and insurance.

That said, insurance covers up to $100 for non-negotiable document reconstruction and $200 for merchandise loss, damage, or missing contents.

Also, PMI delivery takes six to ten business days.

First-Class Package International Service (FCPIS)

First-Class Package International Service (FCPIS) USPS

First-Class Package International Service is USPS’ most economical international shipping option.

While inexpensive, there are some downsides. For one, packages have a maximum weight of four pounds. What’s more, delivery is slow, sometimes taking up to one month.

Finally, First-Class packages don’t come with insurance; however, you can purchase it as an add-on service.

Also, tracking is not included and is not available for FCPIS packages going to Vietnam.
