Walmart has been selling items online since 2007. At that time, you had to place your order online and pick it up in the store at the “Site to Store” desk.
Nowadays, it is easy to place an order for pickup or delivery. But what if you change your mind? And can you cancel your Walmart order? Here is what I discovered!
How to Cancel a Walmart Order?
To cancel your Walmart, please follow the below steps. Please note, this will only work if the Walmart order is in the Processing status.
- Visit Walmart.com online and click on the “Account icon” in the top right-hand corner.
- Then click on “Track Order.”
- You will be prompted to enter your order number (from the confirmation email) and your email address.
- Then select the desired order or particular items you want to be removed, then click “Cancel”.
- If the order has been successfully canceled, you will receive a confirmation email.
If you are unable to see the “Cancel” button, your order may already be in the queue to be packed. If this is the case, it may be best to contact Walmart directly over the phone to see if you cancel the order.
Cancellation is Not Guaranteed
Even if you do use the “Request Cancellation” button, it is not guaranteed that your order will be canceled.
You have to wait until you get a confirmation email from Walmart.com saying it has been canceled. In that case, you can then return the item online or in the store.
Often, your order gets processed and sent before you get a chance to cancel it, though.
This typically happens when you order something for next-day or two-day delivery. In some cases, your order may be processed within an hour or less. In that case, you have to return your item when it gets to you.
What to Do if You Are Running Late
When you set a time to pick up your grocery order, the store will email or text you when it is ready. But what if you are running late and cannot make it right away?
As long as you make it to the store before they close for the day, you can still pick it up. However, it is best to call the store and let them know that you are running late.
Regardless of whether your order is canceled or not, anytime you change your mind about an order, you can return it to the store or online.
Just login to your account and go to your orders. Find the one you want to return and start the return process. They will either let you print out a label to return it by UPS or a receipt to take it back to the store.
If you catch the order before the cutoff time, typically 12 to 24-hours after ordering, you can cancel by going to your account and finding your order. Then select “Request Cancellation.” If it is after the cutoff time, you will have to use the “Contact us” link at the bottom of the website page.
