You also have to spend at least $35 to qualify for a delivery order.

Express memberships cost $10 per month (or $99 annually if you want to pay all at once and get a discount).
How Does Target Instacart Work?
Target Instacart is an easy and convenient service that is based on the Instacart app.
If you don’t already have an account, you will need to sign up for one. It’s free to get an account, but you will eventually have to apply for credit to remit payments.
If Target Instacart is available in your area, it will show up on the main screen of the app (or page of the website- you can use either).
You might have to scroll a bit, as the stores tend to be grouped by themes.
For example, one area groups stores by “Big-selection grocers,” “New On Instacart” and “Best stores for bargains,” just to name a few.
You can also just enter “Target’ in the search bar at the top of the screen.
Either way, you will navigate your way over to the Target storefront on the Instacart app.
At a glance, you can see the “Search Target” bar at the top, with some categories to scroll through below.
Fixed at the bottom is your shopping menu, with the main page, Aisles, and Deals and Buy It Again categories.
After you have shopped for the first time, you can go to Buy It Again to easily find favorite items you previously purchased and add them to your cart.
Go ahead and take a look through the available inventory on Target Instacart.
In keeping with the concept of Instacart as a grocery delivery service, the emphasis is definitely on food products.
If you don’t have a Target superstore with an entire grocery section, chances are good that you probably don’t have Target on Instacart in your area.
For those that do, you can shop all the grocery departments and some of the other departments.
It does appear, however, that not all of Target’s inventory is available on Instacart. Rather, it’s more like the items you’d find in a grocery store, versus a department store.
Once you have filled your cart and met the $35 minimum, you can head to check-out.
There you can do the following:
- Pick your delivery date and time
- Set the form of payment (if you have multiple cards on the account)
- Leave any delivery instructions
- Look over your items one last time
If everything looks good, you’ll hit the green “Continue” button, where you decide how much of a tip to leave your driver.
It’s good form to leave at least five percent, but ten or more is best.
Once you have completed that and submitted it, you’re set!
Make sure notifications are enabled so you know when your shopper begins and are there to answer any questions they might have for you about replacements.
You will receive notifications as they shop, when they complete shopping and check-out in the store, when they’re on their way to you and when they have completed the delivery.
All that’s left is for you to rate them, and it really is important that you do so, because good shoppers/drivers deserve praise and less-than-great ones should see how they can improve.
What Can You Buy on Target Instacart?
Target’s Instacart storefront reveals that the retailer doesn’t put its full inventory on the app.
Instead, the emphasis is on groceries, front and center.
However, Target does sell some of its related inventory on Instacart as well. The products you can shop are what you’d expect to find at any drug store.
These items include kitchen supplies, personal care/hygiene items, baby and pet items, and office supplies.
However, popular departments like apparel and shoes, home goods and décor, sports and hobbies, toys, electronics and media, and so on are not available through Instacart.
Can You Return Target Items From Instacart?
If you received the wrong item in your Target Instacart order, all Instacart can do is refund you for the error.
If you would like to get a replacement or if you want to return an item, you can do that in-store only.
Bring your phone with you so that you have your Instacart receipt and take it up to the Customer Service desk, normally found at the front of the store.
Does Instacart Price Match Target?
Instacart and Target do not price match each other.
Target’s prices are higher on Instacart, likely to help offset Instacart’s operational fees.
However, if you’re wondering how much of a mark-up Instacart implements, you can check the Target app or website for a price comparison.
Does Target Accept EBT on Instacart?
The use of EBT SNAP benefits on Instacart is still limited in scope, only available in certain states and then only limited to certain retailers within each state.
Unfortunately, Target’s Instacart storefront does not accept EBT/SNAP at this time.
Target Instacart is a convenient option for shoppers who like the store’s selection of groceries, including its many store brands.
Delivery costs $3.99 per order of $35 or more, plus fees and driver tip, though Express members can save on fees, with delivery for free, and other fees cut in half.
