  1. Visited a dollar general today in Hagerstown Md, I go to this store often and it is awful. The place is always a mess, can’t get through the isles, the workers are in the back laughing and goofing off, they don’t want to wait on anyone . Just an awful store, today the lights were out and I couldn’t even see to shop. What a dump! I won’t be shopping there again .

The dollar general in marion nc on 226 is always a mess can’t shop for all the carts blocking everything I have gotten bad milk from them because I think they leave it out of cooler to long also they have been closed past 3 days sign on door say closed because of short staff don’t understand it they should have someone to open

  3. This must be the normal way dollar general stores are run . It is Obvious that CEO and corporate are making too much money that they no longer care how their stores are maintained so maybe if I call the health department for one and then the fire marshal maybe they’ll carry a little more when they get fined it seems that it doesn’t matter what state do you go to I’m reading that the stores are all managed and dressed the same way this is awful as they repeatedly build new stores yetMaintaining or supervising or teaching the proper etiquette for store management maybe once they start shutting down and people stop going or they get sued for the boxes that are piled up fall on a customer then maybe someone I’ll pay attention.

  4. Hello I’m not sure if I’m sending this to the right person…. But on several different occasion I have been charged the wrong price at the register then what was on the price tag on the shelf. I looked at the price and the numbers on the shelf and they matched up to my product but love to behold when I got it up to the front to cash out with it they charged me $5 more than what it was listed. And I told them of all those times and they refuse to do anything about it they just kept asking me if I wanted my money refunded.A don’t feel that it is right for them to do that and it seems like they’re making up their own prices….

  5. Went to dollar general store to pick up a few items not in the store near my home, and had to wait 5 min. for a cashier to come back from outside, and i understand their was a self service station. 2/28/23 store number #09118 i don’t think customer should have to wait for a cashier.

  6. I think a lot of these complaints are due to Dollar General caring more about their profits than the customers and employees. Their profits are enough to pay employees a better wage, but they don’t. Keeping employees at low wages and part-time means having to pay less insurance etc. I don’t believe they are there for the people. They are using the customers and employees. As for being hard to get around the stores due to merchandise blocking aisles, the stores are on a supposed 7 day work flow, which tells the managers what and when they are supposed to do specific things. However, corporate and the Distribution Centers, who are also supposed to follow this, do not. This leads to trucks showing up early or late. Schedules at each store are done 2 weeks in advance bases off when trucks are supposed to show up. Managers are not allowed to refuse a truck without experiencing trouble of some kind from corporate, therefore, stores are slammed with late and early trucks back to back, with no employees to work the trucks because of the DCs screwups. People have lives and families, even DG employees. Corporate needs to straighten out the DCs and put more power and respect into their store employees. Hold the DCs responsible for screwing up deliveries and stop forcing that screw-up on the stores.

  7. Well, I see that I am not alone when it comes to dissatisfied customers of Dollar General. The store at 3501 South Third Street in Memphis is usually clean, well stocked and a relatively helpful staff. Up until today, as an 80 yr. old handicapped, my major concern has been the total absence of shopping carts, and the managers’ response, “They steal them”. I have pictures of mostly elderly shoppers standing in line or leaving the store with arms full. However, today was the straw that broke the camel’s back when I asked an associate for the location of two items which I had been looking for quite a time. He simply looked at me with a snarl and began to walk away. I called him again, but he ignored me, and continued to the stock room. Time, approximately 2:55 P.M. CST.
