Whether you purchased the wrong shade of a product or the tool you bought isn’t suitable for the intended job, Home Depot will allow you to return these items for a refund or exchange.
However, if you have a busy schedule and are unable to make the return during the day, you may be wondering – what are Home Depot’s return hours? Here is what I’ve found out!
Home Depot Return Hours
Home Depot’s return hours are the same as store opening hours. Most Home Depot stores are open from Monday to Saturday from 6 AM – 10 PM and on Sundays from 7/8 AM – 8 PM when products can be returned. Customers can also check their local store for opening hours as they may differ.

What Are Home Depot’s Opening Hours For Returns?
Each Home Depot store’s hours of operation may vary depending on the store’s location, size, and amount of stores in the state/area.
On average, most Home Depot stores open their doors on Monday to Saturday at 6 AM, leaving many workers time before work to place a return.
The store will then close around 9 PM to 10 PM, providing customers with 16 hours to file a return.
Every Sunday, Home Depot stores typically operate during slightly reduced hours, i.e. 7-8 AM until 8 PM. Because of this, customers will have 10-11 hours to place a return on Sundays.
Other than that, you can also use the online store finder to select stores in your local area and find their opening times.
Simply enter your zip code or state, press ‘Shop this store,’ and select store details to discover the timings.
How Late Can You Return Items To Home Depot?
The latest you’ll have to return items at a Home Depot store is during the final hour of the last day of the product’s return time frame.
Keep in mind that stores usually close at 9 or 10 PM on weekdays and at 8 PM on Sundays.
Additionally, remember that most products (such as furnishings, decor, power tools, and hardware) have a 180-day timeframe from purchase or delivery to be returned.
Meanwhile, products purchased from the Design Center hold a 90-day return period, even if you purchased with a Home Depot credit card (see more below).
Customers have 30 days to return furniture, area rugs, gas-powered equipment and tractors, generators, and consumer electronics.
However, merchandise purchased with a Home Depot Consumer Credit Card, Commercial Revolving Charge, and Commercial account has a return time frame of 365 days.
What Are Home Depot’s Return Hours During Holidays?
Your local Home Depot stores may be closed on national holidays or work at alternative hours.
Note that every store in the U.S. will be closed all day on Christmas day, whereas stores may work fewer hours on Easter Sunday and Thanksgiving.
As for Boxing Day, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve/Day, stores will continue to operate at their normal timings.
