Does Walmart Adjust The Price Of Sale Items?

The Black Friday and Cyber Week sales are the events everyone is thinking about.

Unfortunately, Walmart does not offer price adjustments during Black Friday or Cyber Week to avoid customers taking shortcuts on significantly lower prices.

Additionally, Walmart does not offer price adjustments on items that go into or are part of clearance sales, limited edition buys, the value of the day items, or products purchased around Thanksgiving.

Will Walmart Adjust Prices Without A Receipt?

Unfortunately, Walmart will not adjust the price if you cannot provide the appropriate proof of purchase, such as the original store receipt or online order invoice, as cashiers need hard evidence of the price you initially paid.

Additionally, cashiers need to see the information stating the method of payment you used at purchase to authorize a refund.

If Walmart can’t verify your purchase, you may be issued a Walmart gift card.

How To Perform Price Adjustments At Walmart?

Customers should note that the price of products purchased in-store can only be adjusted at a Walmart store.

Similarly, merchandise bought from Walmart.com can only be changed online or through Walmart’s customer service.

In-store requests are handled at the customer service desk or on an operated checkout lane.

Additionally, you don’t need to bring the purchased item but ensure you have the correct proof of purchase.

Moreover, customers may need to provide evidence of the new price, and once verified, the price difference will be refunded via the initial payment method.

For online adjustments, customers can contact the service team to confirm a product’s new price compared to the price you paid. You may need to upload proof of purchase for Walmart verification.

Once authorized, your debit or credit card will be refunded.

Customers should allow 10 days for the refund to arrive in the bank. If the funds do not appear, you may need to contact your banking institution.

What Are The Limitations Of Walmart’s Price Adjustment Policy?

Walmart does not permit price matches on products purchased after 7 days.

In addition, you cannot match store prices with online prices and vice versa. Due to varying state laws, the prices of alcoholic products cannot be adjusted.

Furthermore, discounts or deals provided by the Walmart Plus membership cannot be applied for a price adjustment. If you’re looking to compare the price from another retailer, you’ll need to look at online price matching.

  1. I purchased an item at one Walmart store and found the EXACT SAME ITEM (different size)IN ANOTHER WALMART. When I asked for an adjustment, cashier refused. So, I asked if I could return the item to the store that offered the lower price and repurchase it at the sale price (I needed a size not available at the lower priced Walmart). I was told No, and that I would have to come back in 24hours to try to find it on the floor at the marked down price!!!??? WHY??? Also, WHY??? does varied Walmart locations (in the same city) price identical items (when they get marked down) varyingly different prices?
