As the largest electronics retailer in the U.S., Best Buy sells a variety of monitors for different purposes, including gaming monitors, ultrawide monitors, curved monitors, LCDs, LEDs, and much more.

However, what if you’re not satisfied with a monitor purchased from Best Buy and want to return it? Here is everything I’ve found out about Best Buy’s monitor return policy through my research!

Best Buy Monitor Return Policy

Best Buy accepts monitor returns within 15 days for Standard, 30 days for Elite, and 45 days for Elite Plus members. Customers must provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt or packing slip, and bring the monitor in “new-like” condition. Returns can be made in-store or via mail.

What Is Best Buy’s Monitor Return Policy?

Best Buy allows customers to return a monitor within the specified returns window, depending on their membership status, for a full refund or exchange.

Those with Standard membership have 15 days to return the monitor, whereas Elite members have 30, and Elite Plus members have 45 days to return the monitor to Best Buy.

Note that this returns period starts from the monitor’s delivery or purchase date.  

Additionally, customers can return all kinds of monitor brands to Best Buy, including Samsung, Lenovo, ASUS, LG, Dell, MSI, and much more.

Does Best Buy Charge A Restocking Fee For Monitors?

Best Buy does not charge a restocking fee for monitors on the condition that you return the item within the given time frame based on your membership level. 

However, customers are required to attach proof of purchase and ensure that the monitor is not physically broken or damaged while returning it. 

Can I Return A Used Monitor Without The Original Packaging At Best Buy?

You can return a used monitor without the original packaging at Best Buy, but you should ensure that you have included all accessories and have valid proof of purchase when returning the monitor. 

Note that Best Buy will charge a deduction fee on the item for the lost packaging and any other missing accessory.

Can I Return A Monitor Purchased At Via Mail?

Fortunately, you can return your monitor from BestBuy.Com through mail as long as the shipping is made within the United States. 

To initiate the monitor return by mail: 

  • Pack the monitor in the original shipping package 
  • Include the packing slip and the return label indicating the reason for the return 
  • Attach all the original accessories and packaging 
  • Send your monitor to Best Buy Returns Center at 600 Park Loop Rd, Suite D, Shepherdsville, KY 40165 

Customers should use UPS or insured USPS for the shipping to be able to track the delivery and have proof of delivery at hand if required.

Best Buy accepts and remedies the errors made during delivery, so if (e.g.) you ordered a Samsung monitor and received a Lenovo version, you can return it to the Best Buy store for an exchange.

Additionally, you will be refunded all the reasonable and customary shipping fees incurred for mailing the item back for an exchange. 

Can I Buy A Monitor At Best Buy And Return It For Replacement?

You may return a monitor you purchased at Best Buy for replacement if you are not pleased with the purchase. 

This includes used open-box and other types of monitors, which you must return with all the original accessories, packaging, and proof of purchase.

Can I Return A Monitor To Best Buy After 60 Days?

Customers cannot return a monitor to Best Buy after 60 days since Best Buy’s return policy allows 15 days for Standard, 30 days for My Best Buy Elite, and 45 days for My Best Buy Elite members.

You will only receive a full refund of the amount you paid if you return the monitor within these return windows (based on your membership).

Once the window is over, Best Buy will not accept the return of the monitor in any case.

Can I Return Open Box Monitors To Best Buy?

You can return all types of open-box monitors to Best Buy, including those from Acer, AOC, LG, Samsung, and HP.

However, the monitor you return must not be dented or damaged and should be in a “new-like” condition. 

Does Best Buy Accept Monitor Returns Without Receipt?

Best Buy allows customers to return monitors without the receipt as long as they provide proof of purchase, such as packing slips or a credit card statement. 

Additionally, you should provide a valid government-issued photo ID that the Best Buy service provider will use to match your purchase. 

Can I Return A Monitor Without Proof of Purchase?

Unfortunately, you cannot return a monitor to Best Buy without any valid form of proof of purchase. 

Best Buy’s return policy maintains that proof of purchase must be attached to the monitor when making a return order, and so your request will be denied if you are not able to do so.

However, in rare circumstances, Best Buy may agree to return your monitor without proof of purchase.

Note that in this case, you will have to provide an email address and will not be refunded the state sales taxes levied on the product.
